Approximately 3 years ago, I posted a query on a genealogy site, looking to find my
DEAN ancestors. Six to eight months later, I received a reply from Lewis Dean.
Almost 4 months later, Lewis was able to help me establish the connection to the same
DEANS (of the family of FREDERICK & FRANCES DEAN),
that he descended from. Over the last 3 years, I have continued to 'find' others of our
DEAN family, who have contacted me via the internet.

This Summer - June 2000 - on the 25th, almost all of us cousins that had met over the
internet, got together in Greensboro, North Carolina to see each other face to face,
for the first time! It was pretty exciting to see how, (from what started out as a one
page web site) this project has grown!!! Here we are in the lobby of the
Four Seasons Sheraton, in Greensboro, NC. on Sunday morning, 6/25/00.

That's me in the blue, with the "I can't quite believe this", expression!

Richard,
arrived shortly after this photo was made.
We really missed
Bobby, Anne, Leah, & Ron, who couldn't make it.

After much animated talking, we all got into our cars, and in a modern day caravan, drove to
the Dover - Reedy Fork private cemetery, in the Kernersville/Colfax NC, area. Becky Dean
obtained permission from the property owners, and we drove down the road, to the
cemetery.

We piled out of our cars and prepared to head into the woods - and for a number of us -
view for the first time, the site where some of our early ancestors had been laid to rest.

........to be continued.......

Later that afternoon, my first cousin Larry and I drove to the end DEAN Road to try
to locate Archelous Dean's old home site. Looks like we did!
