Eight
years ago when I started my search for my DEAN
ancestors, I did not know who my great grandfather was.
Today there is (so far) a 43 page Family Tree;
I know that my great grandfather was ADRIAN
LEWIS DEAN;
and I know that the DEANS in Forsyth County, North Carolina,
descended from a FREDERICK
DEAN who is said to have been from
the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland.
FREDERICH
DEAN had at least 12 children and he
died March 15, 1798, in Guilford County, North Carolina. As
the county lines
changed over time, most of our family of DEANS settled in (or
were known to be in) Forsyth County, N.C. where they lived,
farmed, and bore their children.
Through
the internet, I have met several cousins, who have helped me
unravel some of the mysteries of this large 'clan' of DEANS.
They have provided their knowledge - gleaned from years of
researching. I cannot thank these cousins enough for this
"treasure".
What they have done - would have taken this "Alaskan
adopted
girl" - a lifetime to do from Alaska!!
This
page will be a constant work in progress, as I meet
new cousins, and add new photos and information. If you feel
you are connected to our family, please contact us. We would
love
to hear from you and add "new Branches" to the
tree. If you
contact us and provide information, please let us know how
you would like to be cited. We are forever grateful, for all
cousins help!

Executors: Son-in-Law Moses SMITH and Jeremiah FRAZER

*NOTE: This could also be DUNN or DUN the signature is
definitely DUN or DEEN, the name in the probate is definitely
DEAN, spelled with an A.
Witnesses: John WATSON and John LOWERY

note: This was transcribed exactly as
written. It seems that there must have been problems reading
the original writing !! It appears that Solomon could not
write, since there was an X in the signature place. Also,
DEAN and DEEN seemed to have been used interchangeably,
depending (perhaps) upon who could read and write.

my grandfather (Charles) really
liked this mule.
